M2E Power Announces Revolutionary New Energy Generation Technology

M2E Power, Inc, provider of groundbreaking solutions for mobile and large-scale power generation, today announced that it has raised $8M in its Series A funding. OVP Venture Partners led the round, with additional participation from @Ventures, Highway 12 Ventures and existing investors. The company will use the funds to speed commercialization of its patent-pending M2E™ (Motion to Energy) technology, which promises to fundamentally transform the way military and consumer mobile devices are powered. M2E can also be used in larger scale generator applications such as wind power and ocean wave power.
Clinton Library Earns LEED Platinum

The US Green Building Council (USGBC) announced last week during Greenbuild that the William J Clinton Presidential Library has earned Platinum Certification under the LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) Rating System. President Clinton received the certification plaque from USGBC CEO Rick Fedrizzi. This certification recognizes that the Clinton Library in Little Rock, Arkansas, has implemented a continuous sustainability improvement process guided by LEED-EB. Leonardo Academy was the primary LEED consultant for this project, supporting the successful implementation of LEED-EB and advancing the Library’s LEED rating from the Silver Certification earned under LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC) to the Platinum Certification earned under LEED-EB.

EPA Develops Regulations for Geologic CO2 Sequestration

The EPA announced plans to develop regulations to establish a clear path for geologic sequestration, a process of injecting captured carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, in deep rock formations for long-term storage. Once completed, the regulations will ensure there is a consistent and effective permit system under the Safe Drinking Water Act for commercial-scale geologic sequestration programs to help reduce the effects of climate change.
Hybrid Hydrogen Fuel Cell System Develops

Exide Technologies, a global leader in stored electrical-energy solutions, announced today it has signed an agreement with Ballard Power Systems to develop an on-board hybrid hydrogen fuel cell and lead-acid battery energy system for the forklift truck (or materials handling) market. Exide plans to meet all its hydrogen fuel cell needs in the forklift truck market over the next five years exclusively with Ballard fuel cells.

BOSTON - Constellation Energy today announced that its subsidiary, Constellation NewEnergy, has entered into a green electricity purchase agreement with the Jurys Boston Hotel. As part of the agreement, Constellation NewEnergy will provide approximately 7 million kilowatt hours of Green-e certified Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) for 100 percent of the hotel's electricity usage, making Jurys one of the first hotels in Boston to match its entire load with green energy sources.
