BOULDER CONFERENCE FEATURES FREE PUBLIC EXPO Sustainable Resources Expo 2004, Sep 30 - Oct 3, 2004, CU Campus

Boulder, CO: September 23, 2004: The week-long Sustainable Resources Conference, to be held Sept. 27th through Oct. 5th, 2004 at the University of Colorado at Boulder, will feature a 4-day Expo that is free and open to the general public.

Visitors to the Expo can learn about a wide range of topics that contribute to a more sustainable world, such as biodiesel projects, composting demos, slide shows of ecotourism and native cultures, straw bale construction, solar ovens, and more. Local businesses have generously donated door prizes that will be given away throughout the 4-day long event. They can also taste free smoothie and energy bar samples while soaking up the visual, poetic and musical delights of the conference.

The Expo features both international and local exhibitors representing a huge cross-section of industries, ranging from natural foods (Wild Oats and White Wave) and practical power (Boulder Biodiesel and Colorado Straw Bale Association) to non-profit organizations (Heifer International and Global Plan Initiative) and entrepreneurial businesses (Pangea Organics and American Apparel).

The Expo provides a unique opportunity for people in Colorado to meet international experts, learn about sustainable industries, and see products and projects never before in the US. "This is a one-of-a-kind chance for Colorado residents to meet people working or living in almost every country in the world, " says Steve Troy, Executive Director, "and to collaborate on practical, hands-on solutions to global challenges."

The Expo is free and open to the public from Thurs., Sept. 30 noon through Sunday, Oct. 3rd. The Expo Hall is located on the lower level of the University Memorial Center (UMC) on the CU campus. Expo hours are:
