"There's a revolution going on in the farm fields and on the dinner tables of America — a revolution that's being fought behind closed doors of corporate boardrooms and government agencies over the use of genetically modified organisms in our food," says the film

More than 34 percent of the U.S. corn crop and 75 percent of the soy bean crop are genetically modified. As a result, nearly all Americans eat genetically modified food everyday, in products with soy oils, corn syrups, cotton seed oil, and more.

The Future of Food unravels the complex web of market and political forces that are changing the nature of what we eat. Food has gone from being a basic need to part of a larger billion dollar battle to control the world's food production.

This week's Beyond Organic guests include documentary director, writer, and producer Deborah Koons Garcia and advisor and executive director of the Center for Food Safety, Andrew Kimbrell.

The Beyond Organic show broadcasts every Wednesday at 10 a.m. (PST). For more information and to tune in, visit Beyond Organic. You can also listen at Icicle Networks and Wisdom Media.
