The president recently told Focus on Rural America that he "signed a good farm bill, which is helping the agricultural sector, and part of the farm bill is the conservation title, which encourages farmers and landowners to set aside land for wildlife restoration, for land protection."

Sen. Kerry has also been supportive of the farm bill. But many farming organizations across America think we could do better.

So, what is the current farm bill? And how can it be fixed? Guests include George Naylor, president of the National Family Farm Coalition, and Jimmy Daukas, vice president of the American Farmland Trust.

The Beyond Organic show broadcasts every Wednesday at 10 a.m. (PST). For more information and to tune in, visit Beyond Organic. You can also listen at Icicle Networks and Wisdom Media.
