Canon U.S.A. Receives 2005 Energy Star Partner of the Year Award

Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc., has been named an Energy Star Partner of the Year -- Manufacturer for contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by designing and promoting energy-efficient products.

LAKE SUCCESS, New York— Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. (NYSE:CAJ), has been named an Energy Star Partner of the Year -- Manufacturer for contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by designing and promoting energy-efficient products. The award will be presented by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) today at the Capital Hilton, 1001 16th Street NW, Washington, DC.


Canon will be honored for its leadership in manufacturing, broadly promoting products that earn the Energy Star, and for education outreach to further enhance energy efficiency awareness. Energy Star is the U.S. government-backed symbol of energy efficiency.


Canon has developed original and advanced energy efficient technologies, and it has introduced more than 400 products that incorporate these technologies. Since 2001, Canon U.S.A. has received four Partner of the Year -- Manufacturer awards. An Energy Star partner since 1993, Canon U.S.A. also has won five other Energy Star awards.


The Partner of the Year Award is presented to manufacturers and retailers that successfully promote and deliver Energy Star qualified products, saving consumers money and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Canon U.S.A. was selected from thousands of organizations that participate in the Energy Star program each year.
