EarthNews Radio: Alliance to Save Energy's Kateri Callahan
There are many things we can do to save gas, including driving hybrid cars, keeping our cars tuned, and not driving aggressively. But there's more we can do.
ENN's Jerry Kay spoke to Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan.
She says that if we could avoid idling while a friend or relative runs into the store, and instead turn the engine off, fuel would be saved. Also, inflate your tires to the proper pressure. Added road friction from underinflated tires wastes gas.
Kateri said that drivers could plan their trips so that errands to the library and the store and the laundry could all be done at once, saving gas.
Of course, use of public transportation when available is always a good idea.
