WOBURN, Massachusetts — Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:SWKS), a maker of analog, mixed signal and digital semiconductors for mobile communications applications, today announced that its lead (Pb)-free and environmentally friendly product portfolio is now available through the company's Green Initiatives(TM) program, facilitating customers' abilities to meet the various environmental regulations and provide Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant devices well ahead of the deadline. The RoHS directive is targeted at removing six dangerous substances from all electronic products shipped into Europe by July 2006. Skyworks has offered lead-free, RoHS-compliant and other ecological features in many of its products for several years, having begun the migration to a complete lead-free product line back in 2003.

"As an industry leader, Skyworks is committed to protecting and preserving the environment in all its business operations," said Bruce J. Freyman, vice president of worldwide operations for Skyworks. "We understand that our actions today can have environmental impacts tomorrow. As a company, we have continuously partnered with our customers to meet their needs and ensure conformity to government directives and industry guidance, not only in Europe, but around the world. Our Green(TM) portfolio demonstrates our commitment to this important end."

Skyworks maintains a core environmental management system for all of its manufacturing facilities, which are certified to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:1996 global specifications. The ISO 14001:1996 standard specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining impacts, planning objectives and measurable targets, as well as implementation of these programs to meet established goals.

The aim of RoHS is to help protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of six substances within electrical and electronic equipment (EEE): Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr +6), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

Skyworks also offers Green(TM) products that conform to the EIA/EICTA/JEITA Joint Industry Guide Level A guidelines and are free from antimony trioxide and brominated flame-retardants.
