Felder says that readers of the magazine want to seek out wisdom rather than passively receive it. Felder says that cities worldwide are taking steps for sustainable development that should be coming from the federal level in the US or international organizations. For instance, Chicago was the first city to use hydrogen-fueled buses.

Cities also have initiatives where abandoned bungalows are retrofitted with technology to show how structures can use green technology to improve the energy efficiency of structures.
