The fourth annual Illinois Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair is August 13 & 14 at the Ogle County Fairgrounds near Oregon, Illinois.

OREGON, Illinois — The fourth annual Illinois Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair is August 13 & 14 at the Ogle County Fairgrounds near Oregon, Illinois. The fair consists of a business expo, free workshops, and nationally renowned expert speakers.


Visitors can learn about and purchase a wide range of energy alternatives, home and business improvements, natural foods & clothing and personal care products.


Over 100 businesses will host booths at the expo; agencies and organizations will have displays. Many provide samples or items for purchase.


There will be 55 workshops on renewable energy topics including solar, photovoltaics, wind power, government and agency programs, lifestyle and health, renewables in buildings and the urban setting and alternative fuels and transportation. There will also be activities for children, including making solar cookers, songs and cooperative games.


The Illinois Renewable Energy Fair is sponsored by the Clean Energy Community Foundation, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and Commonwealth Edison. The Illinois Renewable Energy Association (IREA) and the Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) will host the Fair. IREA and ISEA are both non-profit organizations.
