Dynamix Bio-Hazard Clean-Up Crew Arrives in New Orleans

GREENBELT, Maryland — Dynamix Corp., an SBA HubZone Certified Small Disadvantaged Business that specializes in providing bio/environmental, Information Technology, and GIS services to federal government entities, has sent an eight person team to New Orleans in support of Hurricane Katrina cleanup. Dynamix has been contracted by Bio-Cleaning Services of America to support the restoration of New Orleans.


The staff departed from the Dynamix Dallas, Texas, office Tuesday afternoon and arrived in Louisiana early Wednesday morning. By noon on Wednesday, the Dynamix team was atop Methodist Hospital in Eastern New Orleans ready to descend into the hospital, where their task was to remove dead bodies throughout the building.


The Dynamix team's main purpose is bio-hazard remediation cleanup, which involves removal of human remains and blood or infectious human materials (body fluids). They will complete the tasks at Methodist Hospital and will then be airlifted to another New Orleans hospital. They will also assist in the removal of human remains from homes. Following the most urgent task of bio-hazard remediation cleanup, members of the team will assist in the task of removing hazardous materials throughout the city.


Led by Belinda Duckworth, Vice President of the Bio-Environmental Division within Dynamix, the team has been dual-tasked. It is expected that they will be in the New Orleans area for months. Dynamix also provides restoration work that will be performed following the reduction of water and the removal of hazardous materials.


Dynamix has successfully provided bio/environmental services in the areas of emergency spill response, meth lab cleanup, compliance, water sample testing, remediation, and training to state and local governments and industry leaders. All team members are certified Bio-Recovery Technicians (members of the American Bio-Recovery Association) and certified OSHA HAZWOPERS.
