BURBANK, Calif. -- Monterey Media announces the theatrical release of the award-winning film 'Eye of the Dolphin'. The movies arrives in select theaters nationwide August 24th.

The summer release is aimed squarely at teen girls and their friends. It is a tale of love, spirituality, and redemption that crosses generations, cultures, and species. Eye of the Dolphin is the uplifting story of a troubled teenager (Carly Schroeder) coming of age through her relationship with a father she never knew (Adrian Dunbar -- Richard III & Crying Game), a local with sage advice (George Harris, co-starring in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) and a very special friend, a wild dolphin. With a clever script, this soul-searching journey has mass family appeal including humor, angst, love, environmental activism and stunning scenery.

Carly Schroeder (Gracie, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Firewall) won the Best Child Actor Award at the International Family Film Festival where the film was also honored with the Best Drama Award. The film garnered much attention at Tribeca and the Houston Film Festival where it won the Silver Award in the new Coming of Age category.
