NEW YORK (Reuters) - Industrial conglomerate Emerson Electric Co <EMR.N> reported a 27 percent jump in quarterly net profit on Tuesday, reflecting continued strength in its network power segment and its process management unit, which serves the booming energy sector.

Net earnings rose to $565 million, or 71 cents per share, in the fiscal first quarter ended Dec 31, compared with $445 million, or 55 cents per share a year earlier.

Earnings from continuing operations were 66 cents per share.

Revenue was up 12 percent to $5.6 billion, compared with Wall Street forecasts for sales of $5.58 billion.
