Statkraft and Catamount in UK wind power project
OSLO (Reuters) - Norwegian, state-owned power company Statkraft and U.S. Catamount Energy Corporation said on Friday that it had decided to build a wind farm in Wales which will enter into commercial operations by autumn 2009.
Siemens Wind Power has been selected to provide turbines for the Blaengwen Wind Farm, Statkraft said in a press release, adding that deliveries will start in the summer of 2009.
The project will be the first of the partners' four wind power projects in the United Kingdom to be completed.
"The wind farm will consist of 10 wind turbines from Siemens and will have a total installed capacity of 23 MW," Statkraft said.
Statkraft is one of Europe's biggest renewable energy producers.
