Prince Charles Authors Book About the Environment

The Prince of Wales is to emulate the former American presidential candidate Al Gore with a book and film documentary warning of the threat to the environment posed by big business.

The provocative literary and film project, called Harmony, will put the Prince on a major collision course with bankers and industrialists who he will accuse of endangering nature in their relentless pursuit for profit.

The deal, which is expected to generate millions of pounds in profits, will draw comparisons with An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, the former American presidential candidate, who won the Oscar and Nobel Peace prize. The film, which tackled the problem of global warming, was also a commercial success.

The Prince has waived the usual author's fee but his charitable foundation will receive an undisclosed share of the royalties from the publishers HarperCollins, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch.
