BLAINE, Washington — Nature's Path Foods, a leading manufacturer of USDA-certified organic breakfast and snack foods, contacted the U.S. Military in order to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. With devastating 145 mph winds, Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast on Monday, killing hundreds and leaving many thousands of people wounded, homeless and hungry.

Nature's Path Foods' leaders quickly acted and will begin delivering truck loads of its organic food products to Texas tomorrow with the assistance of C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc.

"When my wife and I saw the devastation brought about by Hurricane Katrina and the desperate plight of so many thousands of people, we knew we had to do something," said Arran Stephens, President and CEO of Nature's Path. "We thank C.H. Robinson for their generous help with logistics and hope that this donation in some small way helps those that have been so devastated by this tragedy."

The USDA-certified organic products, like all Nature's Path food items, are made with real organic ingredients. They provide complex carbohydrates and fiber without any additives or preservatives. More than 100,000 boxes of products (or nearly half a million portions) will be shipped to Waco, Texas, where it will be distributed by the U.S. Military.
