Green businesses are growing more popular these days, and turning your business into a green one is becoming a good financial choice, as well as a good choice for the planet.

Jerry Kay spoke with Kevin Danaher, co-founder of Global Exhange:

Green Construction

Danaher says that the industry where green practices have penetrated the most is construction. Today, a company can build structures that are price-competitive from day one, rather than having to wait five years for energy cost savings.

One major construction company, Swinerton, has gone totally green. The company has a 60,000 sq. ft. headquarters with solar power and insulation that keeps its monthly energy bill to $10 per month. Danaher says that if you show contractors that bottom line, they become green because its in their self-interest to do so.
