On this week's radio program Beyond Organic, join host Jerry Kay, publisher of the Environmental News Network (ENN.com), as we learn more about the grassroots movements for GE (genetically engineered) -Free neighborhoods.

A recent news story revealed that genetically engineered bent grass seeds, designed for golf courses and lawns nationwide, can travel more than 13 miles in the open, spreading pesticide resistance to relatives near and far.

The news highlights major concerns about genetically engineered organisms (GMOs): How far can genetically engineered traits travel? And what happens when GMOs cross breed with non-GMOs?

For organic farmers, the spread of GMOs could cost them their livelihoods. So it is no wonder that they've taken notice and started local GE- Free campaigns across the United States.

Join us this week with guests Renata Brillinger, director of Californians for GE-Free Agriculture; Amy Shollenberger, policy director for Rural Vermont; and Ryan Rich of Four Elements Organics farm.
