CREDO Mobile automatically donates a portion of customers' charges to progressive nonprofit groups, helping customers take direct action on progressive causes. Using mobile alerts and text messaging campaigns, innovative advertising and mobile marketing, the new mobile service helps customers stay abreast of fast-moving progressive issues and take action from their phones. It appears to be working because since the launch of its activism programs, customers have contacted public leaders nearly 10 million times.

In addition, the company is encouraging people to voice their beliefs through the new web site www.whatsyourcredo.com which gives visitors the ability to text message and upload video to voice their hopes for the next U.S. president.

One percent of customers' phone charges are automatically donated to organizations working for peace, human rights, reproductive freedom and the environment — at no extra cost. To date, parent company Working Assets has generated nearly $56 million to organizations working for a better world, including Amnesty International, ACLU, Planned Parenthood and Doctors Without Borders.

The new mobile service is also the first mobile phone company in the U.S. to join Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree â„¢ program, which estimates and offsets the carbon produced from the company's electricity usage, as well as the shipping of its mobile phones. New customers can also donate one percent of their phone charges solely to environmental organizations. In addition, with each new sign-up  the company will plant one tree. Working Assetts already has in place a tree-planting program that to date has given away $700,000 to tree-planting groups. And, CREDO Mobile is the first U.S. phone company to offer Solio solar phone charger accessories.

Working Assets has had a long-time commitment to the environment, having donated more than $10 million to environmental groups, including Greenpeace, Rainforest Action Network and Endangered Species Coalition. In 2006 alone, Working Assets gave $642,000 to national environmental groups, more than AT&T, Sprint and Verizon combined.

As part of its rebranding and acquisition campaign, CREDO Mobile will be rolling out more mobile phone choices and solar accessories over the next six months. They'll also have a presence at the largest socially progressive and green conference in the word, Green Festival in San Francisco.
