Indoor air pollution is actually more of a challenge because our houses are more energy efficient.

Jerry Kay spoke to David Mudarri of the Environmental Protection Agency about how to mitigate this:

Managing Indoor Air Quality

Mudarri says that we've tightened up our houses to save energy, so they aren't ventilated as well as less efficient homes. Pollutants used indoors won't get out as easily as they would have in a more well-ventilated space.

In order to lessen the effect of these pollutants, you should be careful about what you use. Don't spray pesticides indiscriminately, and don't overuse cleansers.
