Jerry Kay spoke to author Robert Glennon, Law Professor at the University of Arizona and author of the book "Water Follies - Groundwater Pumping and the Fate of America's Fresh Waters":

Glennon began studying the issue of dry rivers in Arizona, but found that drying rivers and groundwater pumping was a nationwide problem. He says that even places like Massachusetts that get plenty of rain are seeing rivers drying up because of the overpumping of groundwater from wells.
