EarthNews Radio: Organic Beauty Products

Many websites are now touting beauty products that are "organic." But some of these companies' offerings are loaded with chemicals, and the consumer has to check the veracity the "organic" claims.Jerry Kay spoke to Diana Kaye of Terressentials, a real organic-products company.

Kay said that every day there are companies jumping on the organic bandwagon. Sometimes if you look at the labels of some of their products, you see chemicals and in fact no organic ingredients at all.

She takes issue with that, because her company invests a lot of time making sure products meet organic standards. Instead of talking about the merits of the truly organic products, time has to be spent educating consumers about distinguishing real organic products from false claims.
