Jerry Kay spoke to Amy Dean, Field Studies Educator at the California Academy of Sciences.

Dean says that people can come in and handle real museum specimens -- visitors have the opportunity to actually touch museum holdings at the Academy's Naturalist Center. Sometimes people just want to come in and explore or put things under a microscope; others come to do their own research. Anyone of any age can use the resources of the Center.

You can learn more about the Naturalist Center at the California Academy of Sciences website.

Jerry Kay encourages you to visit a museum in your area. Of course, you can hear more of his interviews with compelling scientists and environmentalists on the home of EarthNews Radio. Catch up on these information-packed 90-second broadcasts that you may have missed.
