Are you looking for a place that will bring a return on your money, but will help the environment as well? There is a bank where you can do just that.

Jerry Kay spoke to Dave Williams, CEO of ShoreBank Pacific.

Environmentally Sensitive Banking

Williams says that ShoreBank Pacific is a commercial bank like any other, except that it has a mission of community development -- and that development must be environmentally sensitive. The bank has scientists on staff to help borrowers lighten their environmental footprint.

The bank started via a nonprofit called EcoTrust, which focuses on the preservation on the forests from San Francisco to Alaska. EcoTrust believed that a strong economy leads to sustainability, and helped to form ShoreBank Pacific with ShoreBank of Chicago.
