Italy to extend tax breaks on new, less-polluting cars

ROME (Reuters) - Italy's cabinet has decided to give Italians more time to take advantage of tax breaks to buy new, less-polluting cars, Infrastructure Minister Antonio Di Pietro told reporters on Friday at the end of a cabinet meeting.

No details were immediately available, but an extension to tax breaks to promote a switch to cleaner, newer cars will be a boost for Italian automaker Fiat.
