Last year scientists sent a pair of space/land rovers to Mars. They've been on Mars for more than an Earth year now, and are doing surprisingly well.

ENN's Jerry Kay spoke to Paul Doherty, Senior Scientist at San Francisco's Exploratorium Museum.

Listen to EarthNews Radio: Mars Rover Update.

He said the rovers have been doing great, and surprisingly survived the harsh Martian winter. They have "discovered the geologist's dream" -- natural cut-outs, exposing rock layers. Doherty, obviously excited about the rovers' discoveries, progress, and prospects, said one, called "Spirit," is still able to climb steep hills.

Both rovers are making amazing discoveries in craters and rock outcroppings.
